MEET OUR FOUNDER
Meet A Philly Monk : Brother Jeremiah
Brother Jeremiah is a member of the Ecumenical Order of Charity. He took his first vows on Thursday, June 13, 2019 and is now a professed monk. Rather than living behind the walls of a monastery, this Order of monks take on active lives that are integrated with their spirituality. They are neighbors and friends immersed in their communities. They have families and careers while striving to positively impact the world that surrounds them.

A proud Puerto Rican, Brother Jeremiah was born in Brooklyn, NY, raised in Philly and currently resides in the Art Museum area of the city. He works in the healthcare industry and enjoys volunteering, particularly serving the homeless and poor in Kensington as well as other areas of the city he so loves.
Brother Jeremiah is an avid Philly sports fan and a foodie who thoroughly enjoys cooking for friends and loved ones. Cultivating a healthy spirituality and a genuine connection with the All Holy is extremely important to him. This includes the work of promoting the practice of intentional KINDNESS and GRATITUDE, a practice that has profoundly changed his life. It is Brother Jeremiah's fervent belief that this practice is the key to one's true happiness and fulfillment.

"What wisdom can you find that is greater than kindness?"
